Not good at writing
It has been a good while since I last wrote. I am at home on call this weekend again. We are expecting 6-12" of snow I just hope the wind does not blow. We had a night where the wind blew two different gusts of 104 mph and it did some damage. We had about 50 poles go down scattered all over the place. I got called out the 30th of March at 1:30am to go and replace some poles before we really knew what the damage was. There were only three of us out at the time. About an hour later Rod Dunker the operations manager came out to the pole yard while we were loading poles and said fill the trailer there were more and more poles called in that were broke. Then they called in all the rest of the guys to get this done quick. Man the days seem very long when you work all day and all night. We got back in at about 10pm that night and still had a few more poles to replace the nest day. On Wednesday we spent the day cleaning up the rest of the poles that were broken and laying on the ground. I have been working on the under ground crew for about three months and they are going to pull me off and put me on the construction crew again. I am not very happy because I was starting to get comfortable with what we were doing and I hate building line. It got very old after doing it for the first year and a half that I started working with this company. But I guess it all pays the same. Work is good I am just upset that I have to go back to the construction crew. I am waiting to take my journeyman test then I will just have to put in my time to get my journeyman's card to be official.
