First day back at work.
Today was an ok day at work. It was raining for the most part of this morning and we had to go back on a mile job that we are trying to get built, but it was to wet to get in and not get the trucks stuck. So we ended up putting in three anchors and headed back to town the longest way possible way to burn up some time. So, my foreman said this how you learn to get your journeyman. He called it time management. He is a funny guy and very smart when it comes to line works. Anyway, we got back about 2:30pm and went to break then when break was over we had to go and change out 2 insulators on poles that got hit by lightning and well I was told I was going to do one of them. I was very excited and nervous at the same time cause this was my first time rubber gloving. I was in the bucket with a journeyman lineman though and he walked me through every step. It was awesome holding 7200 volts in your hands and hearing it buzz when you touched it with something other than your rubber gloves. That was a nice end to the first day back at work after a week of vacation.
